A Little Color Never Hurt Anyone

This piece was completed across 3 days and my mood was different on each day. I can see it in the art. i think it's more wandering and random than usual. I resisted the urge to tone it all down today, when i was feeling more myself. Roll with the punches, i say. This piece is mixed media on a wood panel......but i'm still channeling little girls' rooms. (*sighs)

  1. I agree with you, roll with the moods. This piece is different, yet GOOD.

Channeling little girls' room is great. I was a little girl once and the art in my room STILL has a great impact on me. I thank God for my mother's artistic sensibility and that she put a varied and thoughtful selection of art on my walls during my childhood. Think of all the little girls and all the rooms there are in the world, they all need art on their walls!

  2. thanks for the kind words! i know i want to have vibrant color be a big part of my kids' surroundings... if only to teach in a small way, that we should be unafraid. i'm just learning it now.

  3. It's beautiful. You may be surprised who may love the piece (not just little girls!) I would put it in my living room. Right next to my purple couch.

  4. OOOHHHH!!! i love that comment!!! b/c believe it or not, i really want my art to be a good balance of quirky and playful so it appeals to kids and grown ups! i love that crossover. it brings fun and vibrance into an adult space and a touch of sophistication to a kids space? if i can do that, then i feel like a piece is successful!!!THANK YOU!
